CHICAGO (February 14, 2018) – STATS, the world leader in sports data and intelligence, has been awarded “Best Data Provider” by the Fantasy Trade Association (FSTA), as part of the 2017 Industry Awards presented at the FSTA Winter Conference in Los Angeles.
The award specifically recognized the STATS Predictive Modeling and Data Science teams, which power the award-winning fantasy projections and win probabilities in fan engagement solutions for fantasy platforms, second-screen experiences, brand activations and more. Last month, FantasyPros ranked STATS NFL fantasy projections No. 1 for the third consecutive year, in addition to being ranked the most accurate fantasy baseball projections for the 2015 and 2016 season.
“This award is a testament to all the hard work we put in at STATS to provide the best data, which is powered by the back-end analysis and predictive models that we are constantly improving,” said Sean Koerner, Director of Predictive Analytics at STATS. “With fantasy sports continuing to grow in popularity, the need for fast, accurate data is a priority and I am proud to see that STATS continues to be the top provider.”
Said Paul Charchian, FSTA President: “We’re proud of the FSTA member companies who are recognized by their industry peers for their excellence.”
STATS prediction modeling has been perfected by Koerner and the STATS Data Science team, which has been recognized for their work in predicting outcomes in sports, including Sloan MIT Best Research Paper in 2016 and runner-up in 2017. This year STATS has four papers in the Research Paper Track for the 2018 MIT Sloan Sports and Analytics Conference Best Paper Award.
