CHICAGO – September 24, 2018 –– STATS, the worldwide leader in sports data and intelligence, announced that Dr. Helen Sun, Chief Technology Officer, will present at the Chicago Women in Technology Conference on Thursday, September 27 in Chicago.
Dr. Sun will present on the all-women panel, “Tribe of Trailblazers: Lessons Learned from Women Breaking Barriers and Setting the Stage for Generations to Come” alongside Elif Sagsen-Ercel, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer at RR Donnelly; Kelly York, IT Security Risk Management at McDonald’s Corporation; Deja Baker, Software Engineer at DRW Holdings, LLC; and moderator Megan McCann, CEO and Founder of McCann Partners and ARA Co-Founder.
The panel will discuss how to break down barriers, overcome obstacles and create new opportunities as a woman in a male-dominated sector. The discussion will feature candid conversations about the panellists’ careers and previous experiences, opening the door for the women who come after them. The panel will be held in The Metropolitan at the Willis Tower, from 1 to 2 p.m. CST.
“Having come up through the Chicago tech scene, I have experienced some of the struggles for women in our industry, but I have also seen a drive to change it for the better,” said Dr. Sun. “It is so important to have female representation in our industry, and I look forward to talking about how we can lay the groundwork for the future of women in technology.”
Dr. Sun has over 22 years of experience as a technology strategist and thought leader, recently serving as the Chief Technology Officer of JPMorgan Chase’s Commercial Banking division. Earlier this year, Sun was named one of Crain’s Chicago Business “Tech 50 of 2018,” and has previously been recognized by the Chicago Business Journal as “Business Woman of the Year.”
