he Magic’s use of the AutoSTATS system marks a continuation of STATS’ policy of using the sport of basketball to showcase its player-tracking products and capabilities. In 2009, the company partnered with the NBA to install its SportVU camera tracking system at the league's arenas.
“With AutoSTATS, the Magic have exclusive access to the most college basketball tracking data in the world,” added Steve Xeller, chief revenue officer at STATS. “This information can then be applied to their proprietary models to improve player evaluation and development. This technology unlocks huge potential for the Magic, college teams and the broadcast media who cover them.”
