PREDICTIVE INSIGHTS, DELIVERED STRAIGHT TO YOUR COACHES’ BOX
For nearly two decades, Opta data has been the driving force behind professional rugby’s adoption of data-driven analysis to inform game plans, player development and evaluation. Now, a range of new AI-powered predictive metrics are helping you and your analysts add a new dimension to performance and recruitment profiling.
Each year, detailed Opta data is captured from over 3,000 men’s and women’s matches across both codes. In every game over 10,500 contextual qualifiers, linked to each event, are recorded.
This data is now being used to train AI models which are powering a range of predictive insights to inform key decision-making in your coaches’ box during a game. These include:
Expected Points (xP): quantifying the expected result of each team’s possession in the game, in terms of points and tries scored.
Kick Predictor: Insights into the predicted outcome of kicks at goal, based on the historical performance of the goal kicker.
Score Predictor: advanced insights into how many points each team is projected to score, based on in-game factors and past performance.
